কুকুর পোষা নিষেধ এটা ইসলামের কোথায় বলা আছে? পবিত্র কোরআনে দুইটি সুরার পাঁচ যায়গাতে কুকুর শব্দটা সরাসরি উল্লেখ আছে আর একটি সুরাতে কুকুরের ইংগিত দেয়া আছে।
সুরা কাহাফ - সুরা নং ১৮ - আয়াত ১৮
Thou wouldst have deemed them awake, whilst they were asleep, and We turned them on their right and on their left sides: their dog stretching forth his two fore-legs on the threshold: if thou hadst come up on to them, thou wouldst have certainly turned back from them in flight, and wouldst certainly have been filled with terror of them.
এখানে কুকুরকে গুহা বালকদের নিরাপত্তা প্রহরী হিসাবে দেখানো হয়েছে।
সুরা কাহাফ - সুরা নং ১৮ - আয়াত ২২
(Some) say they were three, the dog being the fourth among them; (others) say they were five, the dog being the sixth,- doubtfully guessing at the unknown; (yet others) say they were seven, the dog being the eighth. Say thou: "My Lord knoweth best their number; It is but few that know their (real case)." Enter not, therefore, into controversies concerning them, except on a matter that is clear, nor consult any of them about (the affair of) the Sleepers.
এই আয়াতে কুকুরকে তিনবার গুহা বালকদের সংগি হিসাবে দেখানো হয়েছে।
সুরা মায়দা - সুরা নং ৫ - আয়াত ৪
They ask thee what is lawful to them (as food). Say: lawful unto you are (all) things good and pure: and what ye have taught your trained hunting animals (to catch) in the manner directed to you by Allah: eat what they catch for you, but pronounce the name of Allah over it: and fear Allah; for Allah is swift in taking account.
এই আয়াতে প্রশিক্ষন প্রাপ্ত শিকারী কুকুরের কথা বলা হয়েছে। প্রশিক্ষন দেয়া কুকুর দিয়ে আল্লাহর নামে শিকার করলে সেটা হালাল খাবার হিসাবে গন্য হবে।
এছাড়াও সুরা আরাফ - সুরা নং ৭ - আয়াত ১৭৬ এ কুকুর দিয়ে মানুষের চরিত্র বুঝানো হয়েছে।
উপরের আয়াত ছাড়া পবিত্র কোরআনে কুকুর নিয়ে আর কিছু লেখা হয় নাই। যদি কুকুর আপনার পোষা না হয় তবে সে আপনার সিকিউরিটি তে কিভাবে ব্যাবহার হবে, কিভাবে সে আপনার সহযোগী হবে, কিভাবে সে আপনার জন্য শিকার ধরে আনবে ? আরবের বাণিজ্য কাফেলার প্রায় প্রতিটা দলে এক বা একের অধিক কুকুর থাকে। সুরা কাহাফের গুহা বালকদের সংগি হিসাবে যেমন আছে কুকুর।
কিছু বিতর্কিত হাদিস দিয়ে আমাদের সমাজের কিছু ধর্ম ব্যাবসায়ি কুকুর পোষা যাবেনা ধরনের প্রচারনা ইসলামের দোহাই দিয়ে করে যা আসলে কোরআন সমর্থন করে না।
কোরআন বলছে কুকুর আপনার প্রহরী হিসাবে থাকতে পারবে, সংগি হিসাবে থাকতে পারবে, আপনার জন্য শিকার করে আনতে পারবে যা আপনার জন্য হালাল। প্রানিটা যদি পোষ না মানে তবে এই কাজগুলো কিভাবে করবে সে উত্তর আমাদের ঐ ধর্ম ব্যাবসায়িদের কাছে জানতে ইচ্ছা করে।
কুকুর পোষা নিষেধ এ কথা কোথাও বলা নেই।
